looking for.... spikely leaves

west allis, WI(Zone 4b)

Last year someone sent me seeds for a plant that I don't remember the name of, but it was really really neat! It grew about 2 feet tall and had small white flowers, but the great thing was that it had major spikes / thorns on the leaves and stems. It definetly wasn't hardy for my zone, and the frost killed my plant before it could go to seed. The leaves were about as big as my hand, and the flowers grew off the main stalk of the plant. Does anyone have seeds to trade or sase? Does anyone know what this plant was? Darn...I should of taken a picture of it...it was a great plant!!!
The leaves had thorns that were about 1/2 inch and very sharp. The thorns were all over the leaves and stems. Please help!!!! Thank you...b

Was it maybe a Lulo? It is also called Naranjilla. It is Solanum quitoense. It has white flowers located at the stem and develops fuzzy fruit which when ripe turns orange.
