Hello! I am so excited to find a website that is such a wealth of information AND from real people who have actually used the product or planted the seeds or ordered from those catalogs. Fantastic! And you all talk in words that are understandable by the normal backyard gardener like me. Which is great cuz we are the consumers after all. Nobody makes you feel "stoopid". I'm from the upper desert region of Calif. near the San Bernardino mountains. I've had small backyard gardens that some years they did ok and some years yuck. We moved to a larger house with more land and we have set aside 8,000sq.ft. for my veggie garden and I am excited and little nervous cuz I don't want yuck this year. It's so much larger than I've done before. I need lots of practical help and advice. I haven't been able to do a garden in 2 years cuz we were selling the house and building a new one and moving so THIS year I'm ready...I'm ready...I'm ready ready ready.....
Hello from upper desert Calif.!
juli64 - i am pleased to be the first one to welcome you to daves garden. i'm from upstate new york. whatever questions you have, believe me, there will be someone here that will be able to answer it. plus everyone is soooo nice. i can't imagine an 8,000 sq. ft. garden. you will have to take picture of it when you have everything growing.
once again, welcome to daves garden.
Hi Juli. Welcome to Daves. Gosh, that will be a nice garden area. I hope you have a tiller. LOL! My garden is about 50 ft. square. It is more than I can handle and I have a tiller. The heat deters me from doing most of my work. Especially in July. The weeds love it. Anyway, I'm glad you are finding your way around in the garden and I'm sure our paths will meet in the future. Have fun.
Thank you! Herbie43 my hubby is from Fulton up your way. We still have relatives there and abouts.

Hi Juli, Welcome from the east coast, I've got some children out in CA. (last I heard from them they were still there). The site is amazeing, and I have learned more here than I could have anywhere else on the net. Enjoy.
Thanks all! This has been the best experience finding this website and joining. I don't normally do things like that but I have learned so much it is incredible. Best spent $15 I've had in a long time. I think I've even made a few new friends that I look forward to reading their posts for their wealth of information everyday. Once again thanks!
