Just want to drop few lines....

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

to say Hello to everybody ( long time members and the newest members) ! I haven't been here for pretty long time.

Believe or not,, I almost give up on my BRUGS! I said myself, it's too much trouble for me to take care of brugs due meanly bugs.. etc.. They are still in pots.. I really need to plant them in the ground soon this year so I dont have to bring all in the garage. But I keep few in pots. Few are tree like. I don't want to lose them. I baby them well lol.

I have been pretty busying lately.. I left my brugs outside in the cold.... didn't bring in the garage like I did at first cold hit. The weather have been crazy here.. warming up.. I brought them all out and leave there . Now they are shooting new leaves! I have some seeds that I can grow some more.. :o) Some died down to the pot but they will grow back. Time to feed them the fertilzer that I just bought.

I dont have any photos to share.. They are ugly right now! lol.. No leaves but just new shooting lots of green leaves!

T' care,
Tricia

Hi Mini, welcome back, I am sure your Brugs will make it through.

Hi Mini, I know the feeling. I look around and say "I've got too many, got to get rid of some, but not that one, and not that one, and not that one" and so it goes. Mites were my biggest problem last summer, followed by white flies in the fall. This one is in the gh this week, makes it all so worth it.

Hibiscus, this was my very first brug. I bought it as 'Angel Trumpet, Salmon'. I went on line looking for information on care, and found DG. That was 2 years ago and this is the first time it has bloomed for me. Meanwhile, thanks to many kind DG members (and BGI, and ABADS) my collection has grown (or should I say gotten out of hand) to over a hundred. Many of them are seedlings that have not yet bloomed and I have more seeds upstairs germinating as we speak. Where they will all go in my small yard is yet another question.

minis...good to see you! I didn't know what a brug was a year ago & now have a little GH full of them! Talk about them being habit forming.

Linda...love the color of your brug. Yes, I agree, seeing them in bloom makes all the care they require worthwhile. Kinda like husbands and children aren't they?!
