Where to purchase Dahlia bulbs? Dutch Gardens?

Huntington, IN(Zone 5b)

I made a big mistake and dug the ones I wanted up and put them in the back of my mini van. My intentions were to clean and store them.....but I forgot about them and now they are mush. Had to put them in the dumpster!
So now I just want to purchase a few pretty ones for me and my mom.
Any suggestions where I should buy them? I bought some from Lowes or Home depot last year and they were so ugly I left them in the ground.
Thanks for any replys.

hi potofgold! I grow lots of dahlias for cut flowers and get them at different places- if you go to the GardenWatchdog part of Dave's G and search under Dahlias you'll find lots of sites.Swan Island is the most well known and has tons of pictures. When you get your order they will be single tubers with one or possibly 2 precious eyes on them, and if something happens to that eye, you won't have a plant. For that reason, I quickly get them potted and sprouting well before I transplant them out in the garden.--it's all worth the trouble, though- by blooming time you'll have some beautiful plants, and they'll make hefty tubers for storing by fall.
