I think this might be the best place to post this and I HAVE to say this.
I am constantly amazed by the generosity and kindness of the big-hearted folks here at DG.
There are a lot of folks like me here at DG [someone who is a new or semi-newbie gardener] who don't have a lot of seed/plants to trade. You kind folks will never know how your generosity affects others. The feelings and actions go beyond just sending a seed. It's much deeper than that!! This is the meaning of life- sharing your blessings with others!
IMO, gardeners are the most generous folks on the planet. Giving something to a stranger with no strings attached is un-heard of. As A Xian and a person who was raised to be kind to others, it still amazes me b/c not everyone we meet each day is this way- sadly.
I do know what it feels like to share seeds too, as I have sent seeds that I loved and was glad someone else got joy from the plant. I can't wait to hear from some folks I sent tubers and seeds to recently.
There is a lady (who will remain anonymous) who had saw one of my threads [here at DG] looking for seeds. She emailed me and offered to send them to me. Today I got those particular seeds and SEVERAL more kinds I didn't ask for!!! YOU know who you are and I cannot tell you how my heart felt when I opened that envelope!!
To those of you who may sometimes feel taken advantage of or are kinda tired of not trading but just doing SASBE, etc... hopefully this will cheer you up a bit. You are doing a BEAUTIFUL thing in sending folks seeds. [Now I am talking about legit needs here- not freeloaders, OK?]
I am not saying you should let folks take advantage of you either. I am just saying if you ever think you only seem to do SASBE abnd don't seem to get what you want..... take heart when I tell you this: That the grateful person[and most of us are] who opens your seeds, etc... you may have just made their day, month or even their year - and their entire growing season!!!
I was sooo depressed over DH's job situation but I came back to DG [after a short absence] and the kindness of folks and the just plain fun at being here at DG have made me feel sooo much better!!!
Sorry I have rambled on so- but my heart is full right now!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL AND PRAY GOD'S BEST FOR EACH OF YOU!!!

GENEROSITY and KINDNESS
Debbie, I hope your hubby finds a job real soon and it will be better than anything he has ever had. Sometimes things work for our good--even when it looks so bleak right now.
Sandra
Sandra,
THANK YOU!
He has found a new job!!! He started this past Mon. I am sorry- I wasn't clear. I posted the good news on another thread here somewhere. I HAD been upset since 2 weeks before Xmas when we found out he had lost his job. His last official day was Feb 25th but DH was sooo hurt he had to leave as soon as he could find another job. Plus we needed new health insurance ASAP!
DH got hired at the 2nd place he applied to. He wasn't too impressed with the 1st prospect anyway, and the job would have been very physically hard.
God is indeed good to us and DG is a big part of His blessing my life!
That is wonderful news, God is good!!!!!
Sandra
Berry girl, I'm so happy for you and your DH. I know what that is like- My DH lost his job last Feb. He just found a new one this week. It is such a relief! My time at DG has really helped me keep my perspective and sense of humor. It has meant so much to me.
Cindy
Oceangirl,
I am soooo glad your DH got a new job but I am sorry he was out of work for so long.
Yes, the good folks at DG make things so much better, don't they?
I Love these DG names that end in 'girl'- LOL!!
Thanks for your kind words, debbie. Yes, love those names that end in "girl" ;)
OceanGIRL,
Seems we have something else in common!!
Go to the addy exchange- look up mine (b day) and you'll see what I mean.... :)
Yes, I'm nosey and like to know MORE about folks- LOL!!
Congrats on DH's new job!!! I am soooo happy for you!
Happy gardening and best of everything in this wonderful new year! Sounds like you are off to a good start!
God Bless!
so happy things are working out for you. Hope all your seeds germinated and make you smile all summer long.
It's people like you that make generousity worth it! It's always good to hear that some one appreciates what you do.
The people on here are great, aren't they?!
By the way, what's A Xian?

Well Debbie, looks like we will have to make a cake with a line down the middle, LOTS of candles on my side.... ahemm.. (I like chocolate on chocolate- your side can be your favorite LOL) GIRL is just a loose figure of speech in my case- I just thought oceangranny didn't sound right...LOL
I want to hear about your chicken....do tell!
Hi, CaptMichaGirl! Nice to see you here! ;)
CaptmichaGIRL,
LOL!! Yes, I get it. You go girl!
Xian is shorthand for Christian. I am a lazy typer is all.
Oceangirl,
I am a chocoholic so we both can have a choc on choc cake and eat 'til we get sick- LOL!! BTW, my side will have its fair share of candles too.
My chicken- Henry/Henrietta is a mystery to me. DH got it for me last Spring and we don't know what it is. No eggs yet if its a hen and if its a he, he doesn't crow. We've never had chickens before so we're clueless!! LOL!!
Yes I know we're pathetic!
Post a pic of said chicken! Inquiring minds and all...... :~D
You guys are a hoot. Berrygirl, lots of us have been on the receiving end over the years here. There are many wonderful givers here. Just hope that along the line somewhere I'm able to return the gift by sharing with others.
Kachinagirl,
I am probably the ONLY person here at DG who does not own a digicam-LOL!! Even if I did have one I am not electronic savvy enough to download and post pix here.My BIL has a camera, and when spring comes, I am gonna get him to take a bunch of pix and teach me how to post them on the internet.
My very first ever chicken is an Ameracauna and they lay greenish/bluish eggs. Even if it isn't a 'she' I will still love him/her anyway, as it's just a big ole pet. She's black and huge and IMO beautiful- but DH says she looks like a buzzard. She has the most humongous feet but I so love her!
She sounds wonderful! Hey....regarding the camara....now you know what to ask for for your birthday!!!
Who is it on here that says life is good?
lol.
I'm ready to make the cake, berryGIRL, we need to move our birthday up to April so you can get that camera before the flowers come up....
Henry/Henrietta sounds like a delight... will she/he lay eggs if there are no other chickens around? I'm not sure how that works.
I love chickens, my mother and Grandfather used to have them. They don't allow them where I live, I tried...
Gardening gives you a sence of peace and love and when i came here i met some wonderful people.Including dave. he has such a wonderful place where people can come together threw the good or bad.and people will pray for you and help each other.
I thank god for this forum God bless robin
Ohh it means Christian!! Gosh I'm dense, LOL. I thought it was some other religion hehe. Such a nice thread!
