Nice photo, this is one of my favorite Hosta. The rain on the leaf looks so inviting, especially since we are going to get hit with a foot of snow today (snow belt), I have to keep reminding myself that is is good for the plants (especially those that just might not be quite hardy for Z5) that we planted this past summer. Anyway, thanks for taking back to summer for a few moments.

Oh, what is the fern?

That's a real pretty green color. Bright and appears to be like the food after which it was named.

It is a lady fern (Athyrium filix-femina) which has done quite well for me.

Not all the photos have the loving darker margin which yours does. Where did yu get it . I want to plant a groupinging in an area which gets a great deal of light but limited direct sunshine.
