I saw this listed on a nursery site and it was love (GTHI* ) at first glance. The nursery said to grow it drier than most...does that mean REALLY dry? Anyone have experience with this one they can share? Too much trouble to be worth it? Sure is unusual looking!!! If I get the greenlight...anyone willing to trade a cutting for something tropical? I don't have any coveted Brugs other than SP.
Aloha,
Carol
*Got To Have It.

Carol I just looked this up, did you see it here. they have it for sale,it is expensive.

Doris, that isn't a bad price at all. It's a very slow grower for me and I hear it's hard to root. I purchased one early last year and it's still the same size it was when I potted it up. It does like less water than others. You probably won't find it at that price anywhere else. I paid $30 for one.
Yes, it grows slow and only a few of the cuttings will root but the good news is, it came thru the frost like a champ! It didn't seem to mind the TX heat either.
Oh good...
I found it here http://www.countrygdn.com/ Kareoke..can you send me the link to the home page of that seller...they are more reasonable that countrygarden, but I want to see what they charge for shipping.
What bothered me about the "likes less water" is that we can be very humid here...and get about 140" of rain per year...but the soil (?) is almost pure volcanic cinders so nothing sits in soggy dirt. Heck...my Euphorbia grow like gangbusters...and the brugs I have thrive robustly. It's good to know it will survive a frost!!!
I think I would get a rooted cutting... hmmmm, gotta think about this...
Carol
That looks almost like Shredded White. Jeanette
Jnette, it's the leaves that make it unique.
This is the home page, How much cold weather can this one stand, I didn't read all about it :) buit thought it expensive compared to the rest of them.

I bought mine from JT Sessions last year and I do not recall it being expensive. It wasn't large and a limb smashed it right off, down to the dirt line in the pot. It got bad reviews, I didn't hear much of anything good about it. I thought it was a goner and tossed it to the back row where it got little, if any care all summer. What a total surprise this fall, when many of the flowers hiding it were spent, and i saw this pot on it's side, which, from a distance looked like it had a yew growing outta it. Culebra, right on it's own, grew into a nice, presentable brug, I LOVE the leaves, it has never wilted or had a single bug, but it has not Yed or had a bud either. I really love it and will protect it, by putting it in a safer place where it won't be trampled or have another limb fall on it. I'll take a pic first chance I get. I'd like to see photos of others, to compare size, etc....
oooops that was not the one I meant to post. this is the home page, the first page :)

Thanks, all. I have written to brugs.com for their shipping charges....I just gotta have one!!!
I was just reading the Country Gardens on Brugs, it says mailed to Continental US and Alaska, and all shipping is included, nothing extra to add.
Carol,
Here is the link to a post I made during the summer. I got a lot of good advice as well as different growers experiences. HTH's,

Thanks so mch, Gemila...I read it all. Might as well give it a try...
Yes, CG does include the shipping...but that would make the difference about 10$ which is too much for shipping, in my book!
Just gonna cruise for a while...
Aloha...and Mahalos to all for your help,
Carol
I looked at my Culebra and it looks like it could use something green to eat. Any suggestions???
Fish Fert?
I found another site that has this Brug, it is $20 not sure about the shipping.
