Aquilegia Species, Fan Columbine (Aquilegia flabellata)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3b)

Hi,
None of the three photos posted as Aquilegia saximontana is correct. The one by reblanchette is likely a natural hybrid, while the other two are likely, at best, garden hybrids involving A. flabellata.
None of the photos shows the distinctive spur conformation of Aquilegia saximontana, which is very well shown and described here:
[HYPERLINK@www.nargs.org]

Columbines are extremely prone to hybridization, both in nature and especially in the garden. Aquilegia saximontana is very often mistaken in the photo record. It would help to clean up that record, if very slightly, by removing these incorrect photos from this species record at this site.

Mentioning it again, in the hopes that these misidentified photos will be removed from the Aquilegia saximontana entry...
The photo posted here by mosquitoflats is not Aquilegia saximontana - it lacks the very distinctive characteristics of that species. It's likely A. flabellata or a hybrid thereof.
It would be much appreciated if the photo could be removed from this species entry.
Thanks,

altagardener, the link in your first comment is a broken link, therefore I cannot follow it.

Here's the link, again, to Aquilegia saximontana info and many verified photos: https://www.nargs.org/forum/north-american-columbines-starting-aquilegia-saximontana
