Hosta 'Paul's Glory'
Curious that the color of your plant is very different from the other photos. what kind of light conditions does it have?

I see that no one has made any comments on this thread since 2005 but as I was looking through some of the stuff I came across this and wanted to comment on it. I saw pictures of the other hostas that people had and thought that they were Pauls' Glory and I saw that this one is a true Pauls' Glory. It was the Hosta of the Year in 1999. Voted so by the Hosta Growers Association. I am a newbie on here, just joined in today. I love flowers of just about every kind, and when I found this site I was thrilled. Hello Everyone!!!!!!!!!
I think they are all correct. The thing about hostas is that they can look much different depending on the amount of sun/shade they are growing in. Here's a link to the Hosta Library. The photos of Paul's Glory there also show a wide range of variation. http://www.hostalibrary.org/p/p.html
But, if someone knows why this photo, or others in the entry may be wrong, please let us know. We would be happy to move the photo to the correct entry if we can identify which one that would be.
I know there are a lot of variations of the species, but when I said what I did I had went to a specilized hosta growers' site and it is the same one that they had voted on as the hosta of the year, so I took it to be the actual true one.
It is growing at the base of a spruce tree limbed up about 7-8 feet. It is planted on the southwest side. Receives late afternoon/evening sun and the soil would be very much on the dry side.
I ran across this thread as I was trying sort out what's up with this hosta. I bought one plant as "Paul's Glory" and split it to single eyes a few years ago. Are these just the yin and yang of the range of this plant, or do you think they are different? The leaf shape doesn't even look the same to me. However, when I look up pictures of Paul's Glory plants similar to both are pictured.
Thanks for your input.
Jenny
