H. pubicalyx Red Buttons became hair for my planter.....
Winter Hoya fun...
Oh that's neat! Run it through a "photo" software and lighten it up a tad....that's an awesome photo! K
That's one way to keep your ears warm in winter :)
Fun! A pubicalyx muff!
I haven't been here for a while, but I haven't forgotten the group, I just don't have any thing to report. That picture of H. puibicalyx is kewel. Really cool. I love it. But where can you find the head? It's really clever. Hoyakins
Hello all, Norma
Hey Norma-buddy! I was thinking the same thing about that head planter! I have a REALLY tiny-leaved Rhapsalis and a long-skinny leaved Hoya I want to plant in a head too.......thanks for the great idea Nightbloomer! (So far these 2 plants are NOIDS, so stay tuned, when they offer a flower I will post them for help!) Karen :~D
Thanks for all the comments HoyaHeads! I'm really a modern minimalist except when it comes to gardening stuff and planters. I found the head in an antique store. Will have to get a shot of the other side as it's two-headed, or maybe I should say two-faced. Can't really figure out who "she" is, but everyone says it's "Pan" (?) on the other side."He" is a little unsettling so I don't usually turn it that way.
Some of the hoya are still coming in and out of the house so I just settled the whole pot down inside the planter to hang out for a week.
I haven't been on DG much as I'm working 10-12 hour days, and on top of it, decided to volunteer at Moody Gardens in Galveston. I got to water the rainforest very, very early one Saturday morning. My first thought was what a kick butt place it would be for a cocktail party.. I could have set up a couch and table and just moved in.
Next time I go I will take the digi cam and get some photo's. They have a huge "tree" of Hibiscus schizopetalum (sp?) that's just fabulous.
Luv the picture, Nightbloomer. I always see pictures of heads planted with cactus and it looks soooooo cool. I've got to find me a head to use but not my head....lol.
:) Donna
