I was watching one of those garden make-over shows on HGTV a few weeks ago & the designer used several Brugs in her yard, I was thrilled to see that!
They are getting more popular!
I know many folks up here where I live even know what they are, much less ever seen one. Me included, a year ago. Now I have over 30 between the seeds & cuttings. Guess you can say I have been bitten by the Brug Bug also!
Thanks, Margie, fun article!! My brother is building a house and was chatting with a 'well known' garden guru who told him that brugs were a disappointing plant, pricey, a trendy fad that will burn out as quickly as it came in because there is little return for the average gardner and they are subject to all sorts of disease/bugs and do not do well any place but the tropics and must be grown inside a greenhouse in the US because it's too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter and they definitely will not grow in Arky. You think that guru has 'brug rage'?? We have laughed until we could hardly stand up, trying to figure out what in the world caused such a long winded, negative review. I'm e-mailing this article to my bro, so he can send it to the guru, along with some pics of mine blooming last summer, amazingly in Arky...
Margie, I finally got mine in the mail yesterday! Hubby was wondering why I'm so excited about the mail....
Silly husband...he should have KNOWN !!!
My sentiments exactly =)!!!
