I have 6 trades of Callicarpa americana L. seeds to anybody would like them. I was gonna start them but the birds have scattered seeds all over the yard and I have seedlings every where I don't need them, so I am giving these away to anybody who would like them. It makes a great attractiom piece in the yard when all the vibrant wild purple berries are showing. The birds love the bushes too.
CLOSED: American Beauty Berry Tree
I would be very interested in callicarpa seeds. It is one of my very favorite shrubs. Is there anything inparticular that you are looking for? I haven't gathered much of my own, but I may have some spares in this season's annual purchases.

Starlight,
I have tried starting these many times with no success. What is the secret?
Starlight, do you have any left? If so, I'll be glad to send postage, etc.
Thanks!
Yvonne
If I'm not too late, I'd love to try starting these! Every time I see a picture of beautyberry in the catalog, I just go ooooooh.
Please take a look at my trade list and see if there's something I can send you, or I can send a SASE.
Thanks!
Jill
Is there any left? I too would love to have some of your seeds. My addy is in the Address Exchange.
I sent you email, do you still have any left?

Just send me your addys today if ya haven't already.
Mudd puggies. I have started them several different ways. They need a bit of cold stratification first about 2 weeks and then they need lots of warm heat to start them out. My one big tree is about 8 foot tall and as big around and it been growing for about that many years now. LOL.. I thought it was a weed when it first started out, and somehow I never got around to pulling it out. LOL my surprise when it turned out to be such a beautiful tree. It is right next to my burn pile and I figured the heat would kill it it off but it never did and it just goes to town.
They don't germinate real fast took mine a couple of months to get going. Just kept them at a high humidty and a high heat til they sprouted.
The neighbor is not to happy with all the seedings growing in their yard from the birds and wind dropping seeds there, but oh well looks better than the mess they had.
They love a rich organic soil. That's why mine does so well, it near the compost burn pile and the other seedlings are all in a well organic mulched area. If you can't get the seeds going and wanna couple remind me in a few months when winter is over and I will send ya some seedlings.
Hmm, well that explains it. I did not do the cold treatment on them. Thanks for all the wonderful info! And thanks for the offer, I wish I had the room, but sadly I don't. Flowerbed space is a hot commodity around here. If I have a vacancy, I feel the need to fill it immediately. LOL
