Look what popped overnight. Princess Leia, an LA from Iris City Gardens.
Done no work this AM. Too busy being excited about this one and the others that will soon bloom. Will collect pollen and then cut off bloom, hoping for bloom next summer.
Probably just a dream but still

Ooooooooooooooooh color and it's not a pic from the summer! What a beauty!!!
Thank you for sharing it with us. Ü
Yum!
Very pretty!
Beautiful Ginny, thanks for posting fresh colour
ok this is not april fools and you do live in winnipeg manitoba canada - right? so how did that bloom in JANUARY??
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, it's like this see. The Northern Lights Iris Society ordered some irises from the US. They sat in @#$%^&* Canada customs for 13 repeat 13 days. So, was supposedly far too late to plant. Although I did plant all the Sibs & JIs because weather was wonderful last fall -. All the LAs were potted up.anyway. So, that is the story.
So from now on, am going to get a P>O> Box address or something, just across the border and clear things myself. Yes, the shipments will still have their phyto, all legal and above board. I am just NEVER going to play games with customs again.
Plus, shipping is much cheaper to a US address than UPS from USA to Canada. Shipments to US addresses can be sent by US mail.
Amen with thanks to Echoes.
Wow, that's a gorgeous flower Ginny. I didn't know you could grow Irises inside.
Yippee. Got use of a US P.0. box just across the border. NOW, bring on all the US co-ops. At least, all the ones I can afford.
Ginny
Good for you Ginny. I should be so lucky.
and is the border crossing an easy thing? do you go back and forth often?
No. I won't go back & forth. The owner ofthe box will do that.. I'll wait at Cdn. Customs to clear them.
