Hi Todd,
Here's mine. So excited when it bloomed this June.

I love this orchid! We travel to Michigan every summer and are usually fortunate to be there when the Showy's are in bloom - there are several gravel roads we've traveled where they grow in abundance. The whole road, 5 miles or more, is dotted on both sides with Showy's and the yellow Ladyslippers. We also find them growing in ditches along major highways which sometimes causes problems with us braking to stop and take pictures! When we were in Ontario this past June with a group of botanists, we were pleased to see the Showy's just coming in to bloom. Some of the botanists with us just passed them by as 'common as dirt' plants - I don't care how common they might be, they're always a showstopper for me when we see them blooming in the wild.

This is one shot from our exploring the side roads of Charlevoix County, Michigan. In some places we would find clumps with as many 12-15 blooms! Unfortunately I can't find those photos right now.

There the best North American orchid in my opinion. They are relatively rare in Newfoundland, but where they do occur, they are locally abundant. I have to drive 8 hours to get to the nearest clump!

I don't know anywhere where they grow wild in Western Mass. Lucky you!!! I bought mine from my neighbor who grows from seed and sells internationally.

What a beautiful orchid! It's wonderful thing you can see the lovely orchid like this in the wilderness!
