Yummy Birdie Bread Recipe

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

For all you bird parents out there. This smelled so good when I took it out of the oven, I wanted to eat it myself!

Yummy Birdie Bread

Preheat oven to 375 degrees on bake.

1 c. whole wheat flour or white flour (not bleached, not bromated, and no chemicals added)
¾ c. food processed apples
1 egg
1 c. of small bird seed or pellets (preferably seed)
1 celery stalk
2/3 cup water
½ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
½ tbs. baking powder
¼ tsp. canola or vegetable oil
Opt. 1 tsp. each ground walnut and almond

Cook celery until softened. Put celery and apple in food processor on high for 30 seconds.

Mix together all your ingredients for a minute. Lightly grease a small loaf pan or cupcake pan with oil. Spoon in your mixture, evenly distributing between cupcake cups and discard any surplus.

Bake at 375 for 25 minutes. Cool and serve to your birdie!
Tip: Breaking muffins in half may help encourage your bird to taste the bread. So will pretending to eat some yourself.
