Is creosote toxic on dog's skin?

Precipice Valley, BC(Zone 2a)

My friend's dog (a white pyrenees!) broke open a bag of creosote they had from cleaning out their chimney and ROLLED in it. She turned black, of course. They were able to brush out the outer hair, but it is right in her skin. Creosote is definitely toxic to plants so I'd imagine it's not any too healthy for skin, either.

Any thoughts on this? And any ideas how to get it out? Will soap work? Probably bathing her right now isn't the best idea anyhow--they live in a place with wood heat and it's -35C at the moment.

Thanks, we'd appreciate any suggestions.
