Wanted pepper seeds
John, I have some of the following seeds, don't know for sure if it what you are looking for or not.
Sweet Hungarian Yellow Pepper
Yolo Wonder
California Wonder
Bell Boy
I think mine are all green, not sure, just got them in the mail the other day and have no idea what I ordered.
If any of those would help ya out let me know.
Starlight,
I found California Wonder, Bell Boy, and Yolo Wonder in my seed catalogs and they are all red when fully ripe.
The Sweet Hungarian Yellow Pepper also ,if it's the same as Yellow wax or bannana pepper, turns red when mature.
I have Diabetes and am following diet recomendations from Dr Bernsteins Diabetes Solution. He says the carbohydrate in yellow peppers is much faster acting than the red or green and causes too rapid a rise in blood sugar for injected insulin to keep up with. With so many different types of peppers available I suspect this might not be true for all yellow peppers. But I have lowered my blood sugars by about a hundred points following his recomendations so I'm going to follow his advice.I love red peppers anyway.
I would love to trade for any or all of the peppers you mentioned.
I am still looking for as many different varities of red peppers as possible to see what grows well here.
Let me know if you want to trade.
John
You have mail!
I have seeds for 'Sweet Pickles', a beautiul little plant that produces 2 inch sweet peppers. The peppers ripen to red, and there are often green, purple, yellow, orange, and red peppers all at the same time, held upright like little chiles on a compact bush (12 to 18 inches for me) that even does well in a container. These little peppers can be eaten whole, straight off the bush, as the seeds aren't bitter. As the name suggests, they also make great pickled peppers. I could also give you some 'Lemon Gem' signet marigold seed, just because they look so pretty planted together...
I'm sorry I didn't save seeds from the Corno di Toro pepper I planted last year (forgot it wasn't a hybrid), but you might see if you can find that variety. It took a while for the peppers to get fully ripe, but they were the sweetest, most flavorful peppers I've tasted. I've had big yields of delicious (best when red) peppers from 'Gypsy', a hybrid variety. I have some seeds of 'Gypsy' left from last year that should still be good, but I think I'll need to order more than what I have, so I could send you a few to try.
I'd be interested in both the stevia and the Genovese basil.
Thanks!
Jill
Jill,
Sounds good to me! Send your address and I'll get your seeds out by the end of the week.
Thanks John
