Sore finger tips, after peeling brugs....

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

I followed your advice...and peeled some brug seeds last night! Now my finger tips are so sore!!!
So I have another question...what do you do for sore finger tips??? a little numb too! Yes, that is supposed to be numb, with a N...not a D...althought I am starting to wonder!!!

Most seeds aren't hard to peel. I use my fingernails and my nail beds will get sore, but for the most part, I don't even peel them.

I don't peal mine, just takes a little longer to sprout.

I use two pair of tweezers, one to hold the seed and the other to gentle twist a tip of the seed off. One pair of tweezers are longer and have a v slot cut in one end and a point that fits in the slot on the other end. You have to be careful using them because a little to much pressure and your seed is decapatated.....but with some practice you are an expert and save fingers, nails and all those 4 lettered words.............LOL........I peel all my seed no matter how small, I just have better luck with them germinating when they are peeled.

Dee...do you have a photo of what your tweezers look like? or know where you purchased them? Sounds like a great idea. I tend to have problems with my hands with numbness/swelling anyway, so this did not help them at all!
Thanks for the hint! I am trying to see if I have better germination with peeling them.

These are medical tweezers I got them from a medical supply kit. I don't remember where I got it but I have seen some of these at Flea Markets and should have pick up more. They do the trick since my fingers are not so nimble any more.
I will get a photo when I get another computer my son's laptop does not do pictures well at all. I don't have the program down loaded to tune them...........

Margie, I had a problem with aching hands and feet, it was when my daddy was ill and I thought it was stress, tho I didn't think I was stressed. Fast forward to Dec and my hubby and i started getting a cold and the doc gave me a 1/2 dose of some kinda shot. At that time, she sent me some really good cream for the aching hands/feet. Well, after I got the cream, the aching went totally away, so, I thought for sure it was stress and I forgot it. The doc came to dinner a couple of weeks later and she asked me how the cream worked, and I said I never used it, after the cream arrived, I never had the problem again, thought I dreamed it. She said, oh no, you had a real virus, in your hands/feet, that was cleared up the cold shot and meds, a Z pack. Who knew??!! She said she wouldn't be so sure if the cure had not coincided with the shot/med. So, could be your problem is like mine was, if it doesn't go away, have it checked out, I wish I had not wasted those months with the problem, when it was cleared up so easily...

I soaked my seeds two days and when I started planting them, I noticed they were limber, so I popped one with my thumb nail and there sat this precious little seedling, it was so easy and it didn't hurt my fingers. But, I've painted all day the last two days and my legs scream at me if I sit too long, I get one thing cleared up and here comes something else...
