Thanks everyone, I'll tell him.

Jeanette: It is 14" around. His workshop is in the basement, where he spends a lot of time, stays out of my hair.

I'm impressed Gloria! Did he build the pine (is it heart of pine) wall behind the bowl?? My house, built in 1904 is built from heart of pine from one tree. I find that amazing, but the records in the tax records record that in the property description...I can only imagine how big that pine tree must have been...

Ed and I built our house. That room is knotty pine.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Wow, Gloria, I'm impressed - I wish I had known that building our house, our self, was an option when I built my first house, from the ground up, via contractor. I've never built another but I have restored any number, including offices, and I really love it.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Have to tell you, we didn't build it ALL by ourselves, had some things contracted, but I was up on the roof, nailing alongside Ed. Put blown in insulation in attic and walls, nailing rocklathe, etc. But, I was young then!
Sigh...........
