Coleus

Does anyone here in the Canadian Forum keep their coleus and root cuttings and trade?? I luv all the coleus I seen on the other side of the fence. I want to buy some seeds and see what I can get from them.

I haven't brought any of mine indoors to take cuttings because there seem to be so many new ones every year to try that I just buy lots of seed. And the house is only so big LOL

I brought in my Kong coleuses from last summer. I'll be taking cuttings soon.

Jagonjune, you grow COLEUS outside in Edmonton????? How??? Mine is extremely frost sensitive. I always have a large pot of it growing inside--it makes quite a display as it cascades over our upstairs wood heater...which, needless to say, is never used! (DH wanted to take it out, but I refused because it makes such a good plant stand)

Last week I ordered a pure gold coleus (Golden Wizard from Stokes) and am quite excited about growing it. Has anyone experience with it? I don't think cuttings would ship too well -- has anyone tried to do that?

Rosemary, I used to grow coleus outside when I lived in Edmonton. No problems that I can recall. Maybe I was lucky.

They're beautiful. I haven't grown one of those for years but I'd love to have a pot like that on the patio. So many plants...so little space.
