Christmas Village, etc.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

My daughter took a bunch of pictures at our house on Christmas Day of my North Pole village and Santas. She sent them to me this morning in a slideshow version. I have no idea how to post a link to put it on DG, but if anyone would like to see it, please email me with your email addy, and I will forward it to you. You can see what my other passion is besides flowers.

Oh my gosh, those are so cool. The picture of your stairway is gorgeous. I'll bet your home is a hit with everyone who visits you. Beautiful village. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Shirley. Not many people ever see it, but our kids and grandkids. The grandkids always walk around looking to see if I've added anything new. I don't know how much longer I'm going to feel like doing all this work though. Hubby made my snow mountains a few years ago, but other than that, he doesn't help at all. He only likes to have a tree.

That's so pretty, Sylvia. I have a good many pieces to the Coke Village that I've collected but when I started collecting Brugs, I forgot about my village.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

It's flowers in the Spring and Summer and Christmas in the Fall and Winter. I'm way too much of a collector. I think it is a sickness. lol

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Sylvia, that's such a special village you have there. I can only imagine the children's faces lighting up and watching their little imagination's soar. It's just precious, and thank you for sharing dear. :-)

Thanks, Ada and Julie. I really enjoy doing it and the grandkids love it, but no one else really ever sees it. I thought some of you might enjoy looking, since there is not much going on in the flower world right now. We are all just waiting for Spring. lol

Sylvia, that is beautiful. It looks magical. Thanks so much for sharing.

Unbelievable, Sylvia!! It must take you forever to set it up and even longer to take it down. So many little pieces and so much detail. Just beautiful. Do you add a lot of pieces every year? I have never seen so many pieces. Are they Dept 56 or another village? You should have tours!!

I remember a few years back when the Dept 56 villages were on sale in all the bigger stores. I haven't seen them in the last few years. I had quite a few when they first came out, the Dickens ones. I just loved them. Remember the Annalee Christmas dolls? I used to collect those too. I do not see them anymore either.

Kell, I knew there was some reason why I keep mine packed away. LOL I guess I'm just too lazy to bother with them.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I now I am but then I see Sylvia's and wish I would continue to put on the Christmas show!! I used to do so many trees and put things all over now I am lucky if I get one tree up!! I just started on thyroid today, so you never know I may yet get back to doing it! LOL

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Good luck, Kell.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey, I need that thyroid medication too. I'm so tired today I can hardly move. I just finished getting the very last thing put away and the house swept and vacuumed. DH even helped. Miracles do still happen. lol

I've been collecting Christmas village houses for 10 years, and I usually add 3 or 4 new ones every year. I buy little items on Ebay and at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc. to go with each little house. Most of my village pieces are Dept. 56 North Pole, but there are a few from Michael's, Wal-Mart, etc. thrown in the mix.

I love planning and putting it together, but absolutely hate undecorating it and putting it all away. I've been trying to bribe some of my older grandkids to help, but haven't had any luck so far. lol
