Hi, I just saw this picture. I would like to know more about kaffir lillies. Will they grow in TX? I have been tempted to buy one of these beauties.

Thanks, silverfluter

Where you live they should do just fine. They seem to grow well in the St. Pete area of Florida.

Clivia isn't hardy for us here in zone 7B in Texas. You are in a zone that would be iffy so try a pot and enjoy. I've grown it inside for years and it never fails to bloom for me and doesn't require high light. Also, this one loves to be root bound to bloom and increase well.

I received few seeds of this plant in a trade but dont know germination procedure. Please if you know tell us. Your plant is very beautiful.
Thanks

mgarr,

I love your Clivia! Do you have any seeds to trade?

I've never tried to grow this one from seed.

Do you let your flowers go to seed? If you do I'd love to trade. I love its color and the shape of the leaves. I'm about to give up on mine, it didn't bloom this year. Of course it takes them 3-5 years from seed before they bloom.

Siggy
