Hi my name is Carol and I live in Westfield ,New Brunswick,Canada. I live on a small hobby farm were we have dairy goats, laying hens and rabbits at the moment. I have gardened some all my life but since moving to this farm and having an endless supply of manure I have gotten into having a lot more gardens over the last few years.
I have used the Plant Database for quite some time to look up plants that I was trying to set up trades for but I never got around to subscribing to DG. This Christmas I got a digital camera so I am looking forward to being able to post pictures and a friend gave me money for Christmas and told me to use it for something I wanted (She knows usually I would just use it for bills) so I decided that I would subscribe to DG.
I have been spending the last few days reading posts at all the different forums and have really enjoyed it.
Now to just figure out how this camera works so I can post pictures.

Welcome, Carol, from British Columbia
Your hobby farm sounds delightful. Do you make cheese from the goats' milk? And isn't it wonderful having manure. Looking forward to your pictures.

Carol, welcome to Dave's from Christine in Ontario. Looking forward to seeing your pictures in the forums. Do you have any pet-type-animals on your hobby farm? If you do, there's a wonderful pets forum too. I can appreciate your camera dilemma - it took me over a year to get over being scared of my digital...lol.
Welcome Carol. Hope you are enjoying Daves during these cold winter days. Looking forward to seeing some of your pictures.
welcome from upstate new york.
Welcome from an ex Fredrictonian now living in Victoria.
Thank you all for your warm welcome.
To answer your questions Christine, yes I do have indoor pets as well. We have two dogs, two tanks of fish,a lovebird, six rats and one very lucky leopard gecko(long story). I have been over to the pet forum and done some reading there as well.

Welcome Carol,
Another Canadian. Yippee. Am looking orward to your photos and stories about your farm/garden activities/ weather too. Are you near the ocean?
I learnt to milk on a goat. Much easier than cows. Looking forward to pix of baby goats down the road.
It took me 4 months before I felt I could put my pictures onto the computer. I was really scared, in case I messed up the computer.
Cheers Ginny
Carol, if you want to find out what plant hardiness zone you're in, you can go to this website. http://sis.agr.gc.ca/cansis/nsdb/climate/hardiness/intro.html
Carol,
Welcome, from a close neighbour. So glad you're here (on DG). These guys (gals) are great. You'll love it and never be bored again.
Did you say "too much manure"? hint, hint, nudge, nudge. :)
Sorry - but she's so close (and I have a pickup).

Hey JoSnoop,
You're welcome to come get manure in the spring but you will have to wait until about the end of May when the freshet goes down, can't get to the pile until then. Email me sometime, maybe we can trade some plants if you are coming this way.
Carol
