I thought that Angels Trumpets were Brugmansias, and Devils Trumpets were Daturas. I just got the Park Seed catalogue and it has Daturas listed as Angels Trumpets and Brugmansias as, well, Brugmansias. Was that their error or am I mis-informed?

In our Plant Files, datura are called Devil's Trumpets. Some brugmansia are referred to as Tree Datura (Arborea), Brugmansia are Angel Trumpets. That is all I know. They are Brugs and Dats to me.

Now perhaps Devils Trumpets & Angels Trumpets are nicknames?
i.e. Daturas point up (as if they are growing from out of hell? lol)
and Brugmansias point down (as if they are falling out of heaven?)

I believe I heard that Park Seed has been informed of their error but they care not!
lol - probably because they know many people don't know the difference. I remember someone mentioning on a thread once that they bought an Angels Trumpet at a nursery once and that the nursery didn't know it was a "Brugmansia" nor the variety, just the color.
