need AV advice

I have killed every african violet I've ever owned and once I get them home and the "store" blooms fall off, they never bloom again. The best luck I've had is keeping them drier than I thought they should be but they still don't bloom. Mostly I don't fertilize tem but sometime I give them diluted fish fertilizer.

The most common reason for no blooms is lack of light. Where do you usually grow them? Keep them warm and give them some light, and they should develop buds. Changing the fertilizer ALONE won't increase blooms, but I would also switch to a fertilizer that is lower in nitrogen and higher in phosphorous (the middle number when you see a label that says something like 8-13-6).

Thanks Keyring. They get plenty of light, sometimes too much. I just moved them out of a place where they were getting afternoon sunshine and maybe getting too hot. It also goes down to about 65 in my house at night, can't afford to keep the temp up all night. If I get any buds I'll send in a picture. Thanks for the advice.

65 should be ok if they aren't too wet. Also, if they were on a windowsill, they might have been getting even colder. See if moving them a bit plus changing to a bloombooster fertlizer helps (but don't over do the fertilizer!).

will do!
