We now know that Jeanne is a painter, Rosemary works with stained glass, and I found out the Todd Boland in NFLD is also a pianter. Here's a sample of his work

Todd!! Show us some more.
Any other artists out there? Show us what ya got, I dare ya.
speaking of artists
Aww....
My first self-portrait. Anyone else?
Good one. Is that what they mean when they say long in the - ears I mean tooth?
Yep... ok, Echoes... got some artwork in your portfolio?
Weezi, that is gorgeous! Do you do other pet portraits! I love that.
Brenda, you have been holding out on us too? That is a lovely painting. Man, the extent of my talent is that I can color "inside the lines"!
You silly woman! I can colour inside the lenses.
Ohhhh, is that a photo? K, now I feel dumb...pretty photo, Echoes. One of the things that gets REALLY bad after 55 is your vision!! :[
You don't have to tell me. Guess you missed where I told how I took pictures. I'll give you a hint. I get the enlarged print Income tax return.
Forgot to say, and I'm not even there yet.

Hope you didn't show it to him. Sure shows his age..
LOL....I love peeking at this thread.
Ok, Lilypon, do you have a sketch of two lurking around somewhere?
Donna, I missed my chance to tell you. You have to OPEN the pictures if you can't see.
my artistic abilities are mainly centered on library displays now Weeze....will post something one of these days. There are a lot of very talented people here and your humor adds to the enjoyment! :)
Wow, those are great sketches. You've got great talent. Don't you do any sketching anymore Weez?
You have fabulous hidden talent Weezi, besides being a garden guru!
Hey, I have a bunch of library display photos, but on hard copy. Poohey! And me without a scanner. Maybe I'll bring them to the RU. Moi...brag...Noooo...
OK, echoes, don't think I didn't noticed that jab about" not being 55 yet". Go ahead, rub it in, i'm tough! And I do know how to OPEN pictures, so Pfftttt ..
I like messing around in Photoshop--but still just scratching the surface, it's such a huge program. Have promised myself that this winter I'll really do some intensive study but I'm already into my gardening and behind on s.g. commissions, so I'll probably continue learning when I need something in a hurry!
Anyhow, here is the Christmas card I did this year. The background is a 15" high scar in a giant cottonwood in one of our meadows; the mushrooms above it survived the first snow. Can you see Mojo, the second cat? Obi is looking at him. I should have taken better pics of Dave and me. These were scrounged out of older photos--but I started the exercise as a lark, hadn't planned on it turning into a card.
That is excellent, Rosemary! I bet that took some time!
I CAN GROW ROSES...........DOES THAT COUNT? e
You bet it does! That is an art in itself. I grew up in North Van, upper Lonsdale, many decades ago. We had a long fence that was covered with climbing roses and I dream of doing the same...but my only attempt at growing them here was a disaster, even though they were rugosas.
And such a masterful and accomplished Rose Grower, Elaine is too! We are so proud!
Through the looking glass and off to meet the queen of the toadstools? You could do a great kid's book just from that composite. I too have great ambitions to become a whiz at photo shop - limited so far to successfully loading it and weighing the manual.
Rosemary, that's some great photoshop work! I forgot about Christmas cards! I make those myself every year, but I just make some cartoon of our life with a funny poem. Here is the front of this year's card. The poem read:
Santa bought a snow machine
It really is much faster
He stowed away his ancient sleigh
Sent Rudolph out to pasture
Yes, Santa's having quite a time
Traveling first class
But the party will be over
The first time he buys gas!
thanks, OFG!
Weezi, what a treat your card recipients must have had. And I love those bassett pictures. I need to study drawing...am good with composition and colour, but really lack drawing skills (although I can copy). I've just gotten a super book by Betty Edwards called "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain which is valuable for anyone who wants to learn to focus and SEE, not just for aspiring artists. Am working my way through, step by step. Have already learned a few things in just the first few chapters. If nothing else it will improve my confidence!
I'm afraid I done keep my skills up... I've become plant obsessed these days! My Christmas cards have become a tradition with my friends, and if I miss one of them, I get a complaint! Some even save them year after year. It gives me a sense of tremendous responsibility to be amusing!
Yes, Chilko, there are many ways to be artistic, but if you like drawing or painting, it can be so rewarding.
Rosemary, that's a really neat photo....and I'm glad you pointed out Mojo! I'm not sure I would've spied him otherwise; he is very well camouflaged. Just those paw tips and glowing eyes showing.
I'm thoroughly impressed with everyone's talent here. This is a great thread! What a multi-faceted bunch.
Shannon
That's really lovely, Todd! You have a very nice style. It is not easy to depict flowers.
A man of many talents, huh Todd? Very nice painting.
Very nice. Love the hummer on it.
Todd that's a good painting. you capture the detail well. Lovely hummer.
Great stuff thanks for the bump, you are a great artist Todd. I should go back and look at the old posts here... maybe I can catch up on y'all oldtime members posts next winter. To busy with work now and seedlings . Joelle
