I picked this up at my local Home Depot; I love the leaves on this. It'll take awhile for the caudex to grow. It's also called commonly known as Lava Fig, or Sonoran Rock Fig.

My Ficus petiolaris is about 6 years old and has an eight inch diameter caudex. My Ficus is in the greenhouse and it seems to love the heat and humidity.

Thanks Bettydee, out to the greenhouse it goes:-). I have two of them, so one I will keep inside, just to compare the growth.
