Anyone that has anything going with OhioBreezy

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi,
I just got off Instant Messenger with Laurrie, (Ohiobreezy) and she wanted me to post a message letting everyone know that she is evacuating due to flooding. She said she was frantically trying to remember who she had anything going with, and could only remember that she was expecting some things from Seedpicker_TX & her Secret Santa. If either of you have not mailed your end, please hold off until she contacts you. For anyone else that she may have forgotten, please email me and I will let her know when she calls me to check in. If anyone is thinking of ordering from her scif store, chey0kota seeds, please hold off. She said she would try to get a notice posted there to wait before she left, otherwise it would not happen until she can get to the library and use the computer. She told me to try to not worry about them, but to pray that they open the dam which is causing the flooding. LOL She is trying to be positive but I know she is worried sick. I will not confine my prayers to the dam, and hope you won't either.

Donna
Have you heard anything from Laurrie yet? She has been in my prayers and am wondering if there is any word yet on how she and her family are?

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

I got an email from her tonight saying to not worry, that the Red Cross put them in a motel & they are safe. She sent a picture she had taken from a canoe and her house is completely surrounded by water. Just a little bit of grass between the water and the house, that is how close it is. I think there are more storms expected in her area, so I doubt she will be able to go home anytime soon.

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Hi all thanks for the thoughts and prayers, I am at my sisters and taking kids to school because of course no bus can get near us, lol, we have to boat in about 3/4 mile to get to the house. Thank you so much Donna for being on IM that day I needed ya!!!!
Here is the photo Donna was talking about, I will try to get to a computer off and on to let all know what is going on, thankfully I didn't have many swaps going at present or I really would have been crazy!!!

I would write more but am rushing around, will post a few pics here then try to check in later when I go to pick up kids from school. If they open the dam's we may be able to drive into our place!!
Thanks again to all for your prayers
Laurrie
This photo was 1-9-05, BIL boated us to the house about a 3/4 mile route and our basement has probably 3-4 feet of water, insurance adjuster said friday they would be out in a couple days, I hope they have a boat!!!

Oh Laurrie!!!! Big Hugs!!!! Been there done that last year! We had to borrow a neighbors canoe too, LOL. Doesn't it feel so strange to be boating down the road! At least your house doesn't appear to be flooded, we weren't so lucky. Hope they open the dam and the water doesn't get into your home.

Let us know if there is anything I can do or if there is anything you need!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers, I haven't been out since the 9th, but will do so later today to try and get some photos, they are soo concerned with dam's breaking, and some are already leaking, soooo we wanted to try and move some things to the highest rooms of the house.
Just today spoke with EMA here in Tusc. County, and they said we are the only ones on that road who are "displaced" the others have full use of their homes yet!!!! I am so glad of that, but wish we were back home, man I miss my normal routine, even if it was chasing a pig out of my garden!!

Thanks again for the prayers, I will write when I can get to a computer again

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Yes, with that water table, I'm sure you've got a pond in the basement! We had a big flood here in 1986. Our basement filled to about 4 ft. Afterward, we got the sump pumps going! Ah, well, the hazards of the low ground!

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

What about the critters are they going to get them out too.I hope so.
At least your safe and maybe if your lucky the water will freeze that will slow down the flooding.Praying for you and your house. And the critters left behind.Jody

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

UPDATE: as of today at noon, every critter is out with the exception of the duck, and he can swim LOL The water is within 2 inches of coming full force into the house, its already in my laundry room as well as my back computer room, I seen my birdbath floating a mile from the house today, hmmmmmmmmmmm guess that is gone too now. OH well, everyone is out and safe, and I must remember, no matter how bad it seems for me, there is truly always someone else who does have it worse.
Praying for everyone with this same type of problem!!!
Will update with photos after my sister gets them to her puter, I used her camera today with a memory stick, so whatever she needs to do then I can get some on here for you patient folks :)
Happy Weekend!
Laurrie

You and yours as well as all your neighbors continue to be in our prayers!!!

Stockport, OH(Zone 6b)

So sorry for the damage and everything, sure glad you got out OK, been thinking about you often. It has been pretty much the same here in our county, especially along the river, lots of people flooded out and rescued by the fire dept with boats. We don't live close to the river, thank goodness, but have a lot of roads closed so couldn't go anywhere even if we wanted to! :)

Hope everything works out OK.

OMGosh!
I JUST found this post! I really don't frequent this forum much, as you know I have too many seeds, already! LOL...guess I was just bored, or it was meant to be!

Ugh! Sick to my stomach to see this! As if you weren't frantic enough with life BEFORE this happened!

Wow! I am shocked! SO, so sorry!
So glad the Red cross put you up in a hotel! When do you expect to return home?
You really seem to be taking this well! I'd be a mess!

Write me when you can! I'll hold off mailing until you are more settled. I'll try to send you some neat bonus goodies to help cheer you up.

You and Antoinette(Gourd) are such great friends. I hate to see that this has happened to BOTH of you!
so, so sorry, Laurrie.
