Where is Root?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Maybe I've missed his posting? I haven't been on much. I miss seeing his posts. Root, come out-come out where ever your are!!!!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

He might be digging out his driveway! The Midwest is really getting socked with a lot of snow!!

It's great if you are home from school and want to build a snowman, but NOT if you have to get to work!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I just heard tonight that there are still 35,000 without electricity in his area too.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

wow that's terrible

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I miss Kyle and Root, and I spent only a brief time with them. I envy you guys that started with them. Wish I had been in that class!!!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Yes, I too was wondering where Root is, Miss him and his posts. Hope the storm isn't too bad in his area. Donna

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Wow Root!:

That ice looks really wicked! I'm sending some South Florida sunshine your way.

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

delecie: Please hurry it up and send it. I have a pine tree in my front yard that some of the branches are breaking off. I have been real lucky, we haven't had any power outage. But I know a lot of my neighboring towns are really suffering. For some reason our electricity went off last night from 9:30 to 10:30 and my heart went to the pit of my stomach. But thank god it came back on. All I could think about was my flowers in the house. I'm glad Rootdoctor is back.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

This is why my power has been on and off.

I'm glad to hear you're Ok Root. We're even hearing about your weather up here. Pretty scary stuff. Stay safe.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It is foggy here and drizzling rain, I said to my boss that it looked like it might snow. He told me to not say that!
The ice is pretty to look, but so dangerous. Hope y'all stay warm.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Holly Cow Root! Looks pretty darn bad there. I had no idea. I guess I need to turn on the TV every now and again. Stay safe.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Love you and miss you root!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Ooops. If you saw me, you would know where I've been. The food channel. Guess I better switch to the weather channel, ya think??!! Good luck, Root. Keep us posted. Didn't your mom ever tell you that if you would check, occasionally, lots of unfounded concern might be avoided?!! LOL. Very nice to know that you and yours are okay. Happy 2005!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

It looks so cold and icy and dangerous. The weather has been terrible in your area and I hope you and Monica don't go out any more than you have to. I hope you are able to keep all those beautiful tropicals of yours warm. Your yard was gorgeous last summer and I hope to see it just as pretty this summer.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I feel cold just looking at that ice. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Root-hope you and plants stay warm. That ice and snow is why I live in south. Would move to zone 10 if I could.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Glad you're okay, Root. Stay safe, Spring is just around the corner. Yea, right!
Don't I wish.

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Glad to hear you are OK and back on DG. Hope the ice doesn't do too much damage.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Root, sure glad you are okay and hope your power stays on. I saw on RV that KC was having ice storms. We are really lucky in this area rarely have ice storms. We have been having snow practically constantly for more than 3 days now. At frist it was so cold i didn't think it could snow , it was below 10 above., and snow was very light and fluffy so not too hard to shovel off my 200 feet of paths. But warmed slightly, today 23 degrees and the snow is much heavier. I didn't finish all of my 200 feet this morning, there was about 5" of new wetter snow and I had to give up when just over 150 feet or so. Didn't get path cleared to chicken house. Was having some chest pains so knew to come inside.

My nearest neighbor came with his tractor and cleared my 1/8 mile or so of driveway and parking area, did it yesterday and came again this morning and cleared again. It has been snowing lightly all morning. I did go to town, needed to get some groceries as weather man is predictin temp in single digits again next week. The county has not plowed the 6 to 8 of snow off the 1 mile of Horse Spring Coulee road that i live on, the other 3 miles of county road had been plowed. I didn't have any problems. Take care and i hope your power will stay on now. Donna

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Stay warm & safe, Root! So sorry to hear that you've got those terrible ice storms! Thought they mainly happened in the Mid-Atlantic!! Much better to get snow....at least you've got some traction.

BTW, your Willow Tree looks beautiful! It looks like it is encased in glass!

Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

Root... I know that you would reather have green on that tree this time of year but here in the Midwest you take what mother nature
gives you, Then wait until spring because the Iowa Roundup isn't far away. (I know Iowaron can tell us how many days til the Roundup).

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Root I hope you dont look like the cow. He has had a rough time of it. LOL

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I have to agree with Shirley, Root. The willow could be marketed as seasonal decor for sure. Take care, so glad you're OK, and spring is just around the corner, I swear. Your tropicals will be out and lush for all of us to enjoy again.
