Here are pics of our 'new' dog October)--a Maremma/Shepherd X, and our cats (SiameseX and Maine Coon X) The dog was rescued, the cats came from the SPCA. Chilko was nearly a year old and had never been off a leash--was living in a tiny flat--knew not a single command except "Sit". The first time we let him run, the look of joy on his face as he barrelled down the driveway from Dave to me was all the reward we could ever ask. But Maremmas have a built-in problem--they are very willful. He's smart and understands a lot of English already but if he doesn't want to Come, he won't. Plain and simple. He's nearly 100# now, with another year of growing to do. And 30" at the shoulder. BIGBIGBIG! We've had a lot of adjustments to make.
