Hi tedk, and welcome to not only Dave's Garden but also the Canadian Trading Forum. You will enjoy Dave's, it's a great place to meet interesting people and get lots of information on gardening. Please drop in and tell us what's growing in your garden (when things are growing!) :Donna from the Southern Interior of B.C.

Welcome to Dave's Ted!

Here's a big Pickering welcome to TedK in Fonthill - you're just up the road from my DD. What do you grow Ted? How big is your garden?

Welcome from the prairies Ted. At least as long as we are still here. I am walking at 45 degree angle today with the wind. (Snow and much colder temps on the way to go with it) - a good old fashioned blizzard.

Another welcome from Vancouver Island Ted. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

Probably, maybe shy. But I know we have welcomed many that just never came to visit. All we can do is acknowledge, I guess.

Aw, its only been a day, lets not give up yet!!! TED, WHERE ARE YOU???

Hi Ted & welcome from Northern Ontario.

Fonthill, On., ON(Zone 6a)

Thanks for the welcome. I garden in southern ontario's banana belt. I have a five acre property, grow a lot of native plants and am also working on a riparian buffer garden with the local conservation authority.
I also grow tropical orchids and have been doing so for about 15 years. The native plants are a more recent love and I am trying to learn more about them.
Once again thanks for the warm welcome.

Great to meet you Ted. Very commendable that you have chosen to work on a riparian buffer garden at this highly publicized time of the "One Tonne Challenge". Excellent contribution on your part, and I wish you good luck with it. Hope you are finding your way around in Dave's Garden, there is lots to see and learn here, but please drop in to visit sometimes and share some of your gardening knowledge with us too.

the riparian buffer is about 1 year old, about 50 ft. x 1,000 ft. I am looking forward to some surpises this summer as a lot of it was seeded so new plants should appear this year. The area closest to the house was planted with plugs so it should be a lot showier this year than last.

Sounds great! I think we are all looking forward to Spring at this point, to see our last years' projects progression and to start the new ones we have envisoned in our minds. If you have a digital camera Ted, hope you can post some photos of your gaden project(s). :D
