K,
I was out today preparing a bed for some future seeds... I'm hacking and chopping..
basically mutilating the soil... I sprayed it really well with water causing a mini flood.
Well, I just happned to look down, and what did my eyes see?
The tiniest little seedling! It only had two first leaves and was still in it's seed casing.
I bent down and pulled the casing off.... it's a Datura!
Keep in mind we have had freezing rain and bad weather- I planted that seed early last year.
I gently dug her up and potted her in some good dirt. She's sitting in my kitchen looking pretty happy with herself!
Best I can figure she's a double purple unnamed someone gave me seeds for.
I'm gonna use her to make my own datura strain. The result will be what I'll call. "Faith". Unless this names already taken?
Just thought it was really neat! The dog even pees there! LOL
Her names` Faith.
That's gorgeous! Yuppers- it's nice and warm here. Sorry you're freezing. :-(
Ohhh wowzers! The way double blooms are so crinkly makes me smile every time!
Hibiscus, do your Datura's grow good all winter, I was under the impression they dies off, I may have to start some ready for next spring.
How warm is it in your basement, mine is always about 65
