My DH and I are taking two of my ferals back to the vet clinic where they were spayed today. We are going to have them tested for FeLV and FIV. They have gotten so much more tame than I ever thought possible for ferals, and now they are begging to come in the house. In fact, on a few occasions, they've gotten in past us when we're on our way out. I figured that since they seem to want in so bad, maybe they'll make good house cats eventually. Also, bringing more cats inside, will mean less cats outside. I'm thinking that the less cats outside, the less likely someone will call the pound. I don't know why I'm always nervous about that. All of my neighbors feed them, and none of them have threathend to call.
I'm a little nervous, because if they have it, my heart will be broken, and I'll wish I'd let well enough alone. My DH assures me that they are extremely healthy looking and acting cats, and he'd be really surprised if the tests show positive. My other consern is not knowing how well they will accept indoor life. Will they get along with my three resident cats, will they use a litter box? They also seem to be more pushy than my indoor cats when it's feeding time. Will they fight my cats off of thier food?
So you see. As excited as I am about getting more cats, I'm equally nervous about how it's going to turn out.
Here are some pictures of my potential new "babies." the first one is Munroe....
