John, that's a lovely rose - but it seems very different from most photos of 'Hebe's Lip': http://images.google.com/images?q=hebe's%20lip%20rose&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&percentage_served=100&sa=N&tab=wi

Someone suggested it might be 'Leda': http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=leda+rose&btnG=Search

What do you think?

Well just like DL's soil and weather can have some influence. I know very sure this one is Hebe's Lip. Pic i made myself at a open gardenday from a very famous gardenlady here in Belgium. And yes pics does not always show the real thing. Anyhow mine has not been enhanced. However i not convinced if they do that to rose pics. I do know they do with DL pics. Just at sites of hybridizers like Abijan, Lambertson, Petit, etc.
Some arent pics anymore but rather paintings,LOL

At the risk of getting shot here, I have to say this looks like Leda.

Hebe's Lip has a large boss of stamens, as shown in this link where there are both roses shown

Also in this link on old roses

John is it quite possible that the garden you saw this rose in had accidentally either misnamed it or bought it as misnamed? This does happen, and the historical record of Hebe's Lip would point to this being the case.

Walleby1, You might be right. It sure does look more like LEDA and it's a good example to compair with. Thanks

The Lady i know who's owner of the rose i took picture of, is at the early 80ties. Maybe she mixed up names. Hmmm...age!
Thanks again, think i want LEDA in my garden now ;-)

John no need to worry about age, DG keeps the grey matter sharp!

Leda is very pretty, I would like one myself. But so is Hebe's Lip, I found a picture of it on a site with lots of rose pics, searching for another. This is a great reference site
