I've seen people who have had them for houseplants for many years and never bloom. How do you get them to bloom inside?

I just found this thread while searching for information on my blooming Aloe Vera -- which is blooming for the first time! I never have seen one bloom either, and I have had this plant for years. It just sits in the sun and looks statuesque, but one day recently I saw the stalk rising. It even has a little shoot off to the side with a second bloom! It looks as though the flowers are going to be light yellow, but most of the photos I've seen have orange flowers. I'll be watching to see for sure. It is at least 2 feet tall!
