My Knightii has a PINK (well maybe it's PEACH) single bloom on it! I know it's winter and it's in the greenhouse and that they do wierd things then.
Does anybody know the parentage of Knightii? Does it have a peach or pink parent?
And yes, it's already pollinated with Rosamond. I tried all summer to pollinate the double blooms, but they are so hard to find the reproductive parts on. I guess I'm a bad shot, huh? LOL
I'll post a picture later. (My camera is not the variety that is quick and easy to dump pictures....or my brain sees the process as a major pain.)LOL
WOW! WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?
I can honestly say that I've never seen this brug. I know nothing..............LOL! Glad to hear you have her pollinated. I hope it holds for you and you get lots of pink double babies.
Oh wouldn't that be loverly!
Kay
Wow, Kay, that is strange! Good luck with those seeds! I don't know the parentage of Knightii, but it has to be at least part B. x candida.
Is'nt Knightii a wild form?
Color me RED! (My FACE, that is.) I'm so embarrassed.
The peach bloom is not on Knightii. It is on Cypress Gardens. I went out to take a picture of a normal Knightii bloom and the peachy one both on the same plant. The GH is very crowded, so I was going to take it outside to take the picture. When I moved the plant, I could see that a Cypress Gardens limb had wrapped itself around the Knightii.
Yes, Loretta, I think you are correct. I've read some old posts regarding Knightii, and I do believe it is a wild one.
And now...onward through the fog! Has anybody ever seen a peachy colored Cypress Gardens bloom? I thought the were all white. Is this just one of those winter things that they do?
Kay
When I had Cypress Gardens, it would start out white and turn a peachy color after a few days. My daughter took my plant to Colorado and it is no more. LOL!
LOL! That happens with a crowded greenhouse, Kay! My Temple Goddess does that. It starts out white and fades to peach.
oh I don't even want to think about a crowded GH lol.
