Need your recommendations for an expert

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

In addition to our current experts, who would be your top pick for another bulb person to join our forums? Or, who would you most like to be able to ask your toughest bulb questions?

The criteria is:

1) Please nominate just one name, along with any contact info you can locate;
2) It should be someone who is not currently a member here;
3) This person should be a familiar name in bulb circles (hybridizer, grower, or collector)
4) Since this person would be a regular participant in our forums, their availability/willingness to participate and their personality (no overblown egos, please!) should also be taken into consideration.

Perhaps someone at one of the bulb nurseries like Brent & Becky's of John Scheeper's?

How about Scott Kunst at Old House Gardens? They are growers of heirloom bulbs and are very big on preserving varieties. They don't offer the latest and newest cultivars and hybrids, but I think bulb culture is pretty universal regardless of the age of the cultivar.

Scott lectures 3 months of the year around the country, so I think he's VERY interested in education of gardeners. This might be the opportunity for him to be available to educate gardeners during their growing & shipping seasons, as his schedule allows, without the travel that his lecturing requires.

Here's a link about the lectures he gives....

Scott's probably a very good candidate - and one I wouldn't have thought of right off the bat. (I correspond with him regularly about this-and-that in the Watchdog, so he's definitely familiar with us...

I agree about Scott Kunst from OHG, assuming he is willing and has the time. He is incredibly knowledgeable about garden bulbs, seems like a very nice guy, and he actually took time on a couple of occasions to write me lengthy, personalized answers to questions I had about bulbs I was purchasing from his company - a personal touch you just don't see today. I have found his advice to be amazingly accurate.
