Sickle Bush, Princess Earrings, Kalahari Christmas Tree, Marabou Thorn (Dichrost

Spring Valley, CA(Zone 10a)

I got two a couple of years back. I got them late in the season and had them in small pots on the balcony. They didn't survive the winter. I think they got too much water. Anyway, I want to try them again. I know that they are considered very invasive in wetter tropical countries like Cuba, but I think that they would be fine in San Diego.

Thanks for reminding me.

I have some seeds...I plan to trade some away, and the rest I'll list on ebay...

I love this tree...just don't dare planting in ground, I can't afford planting something that might be invasive. I am still trying to battle my mistake of campsis radicans( trumpet vine)! lol...

Yes, I was mezmerised by the photo I first saw of one, and have been "in love" ever since...I always had a soft spot for mimosas, but this one is even prettier!

They make fabulous bonsai...you could do bonsai?
I don't even have mine in the ground...can't risk it being invasive. If it is not "allowed" for you, it is probably due to the fact that is suckers...It would not be a risk in a pot...just a thought...
...mine(the one in the picture) is in a 25 gallon pot. That way I can enjoy the blooms without having to worry about it spreading...

If the genus and species is not on our MAF ( ministry of agriculture and fisheries) site. we are not able to import it ,they get taken by customs.
still it is lovely to see. what we are not allowed.

PRETTY! Does anyone know if it'll flower in bonsai form?

I can't help but ask, do you have any seeds for trade seedpicker?

Blenheim, New Zealand

I think he does , but not 4 me

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Sorry boot! They probably get confiscated for a reason. Why is it that the invasive plants are always so darned beautiful and hard to resist?!

Blenheim, New Zealand

I do not know , but I am sure in the future there will be a trade of some sort

(I am a "she", lol) and yes, I have seeds for trade and what I don't trade I mentioned I'm going to list and sell.
I only know of one source to buy the seedlings/saplings and NONE that sell the seeds. It is still quite rare here in the US. They will bloom if bonsai-d, but need to be kept outdoors to bloom. Indoor light or even supplemental light is not enough.

boots-sorry, I wish you were allowed to have them...I think you'd enjoy one...
