Your's is quite beautiful! I have a "Valley Valentine" that blooms pink, but it's quite small (doesn't grow much) and with the harsh winters we've been having the last few, it hasn't bloomed at all. We're just two hours up the pike from you too!

Wowzer dowzer! I just bought (3) at Home Depot...Red Head (pink flowers), and the white flowering variety. These look like they may compete for the #1 spot on my favorite shrub list! Does yours get the "brilliant" red new growth like the tags on mine boast?

The ones with the red new growth are the cultivar 'Mountain Fire'. They are impressive as they mature especially when the foliage is coming out. It seems to me that they have a red tint in the fall on the new foliage also. They are pretty.
