CLOSED: Looking for Himalayan Blue Poppy

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

I'm looking for the above ^, I'm not sure what the difference is between the betonicifolia and grandis is so I don't have a preference.
Anything on my trade list and anything off my stash list (not listed on my page).

Thanks,
Michelle

Edited to say: Oh whoops, I just found out the difference between the two, I need betonicifolia, the one that does well in shade.

Hi, Michelle

I have seed from grandis or what is considered grandis these days. I wasn't aware that betonicifolia does well in shade. Most all poppies are sun lovers, but these himalayans may be unhappy in the heat... thus the shade suggestion.

Michelle, I have a some of the betonicifolia if you would like them. Think I have about 30 seeds. Just let me know. I don't know how to work the buttons yet to email you, so maybe you can email me, or tell me what to do.

starlight, if you click on Captmica's name (in blue), that will take you to her homepage. You can email from there. Does the betonicifolia grow in Alabama?

I don't know Weezingreens. I bought the seeds this year cuz the picture looked pretty. BOught them from the seed rack or someplace like that. Catalogs and websites are a baaaaaaaaad influence when your having a flower crave, which is what I was doing at the time. :)

But then I never got around to planting them. I am busy with my daylily seeds and trying to grow some veggies, so I don't have time for them and if she can use them she is welcome to them. No sense wasting seed.

And thankyou for directions to homepages. Appreciate it. :)

You're more than welcome, Starlight. Those blue poppies are a bit persnickity to start from seed, and they don't like hot, dry summers, so sending them off is probably a good move!

Once you get comfy here on Dave's, you'll find he's made it user friendly, and never hesitate to ask if you have questions. There's always someone around who's just tickled to death to know the answer and share it!
