using doggie downers

My poor Bella Beagle, she is scared to death of any BANG noise. I called the vet tonight to get some doggie downers for her tomorrow (neighbors having a big fireworks show). Anyone ever used them for their dogs? I am not too thrilled about doing this, but I hate seeing her a shivering mess. I actually thought she was going to have a heart attack earlier due to early fireworks going off. Poor gal.
