compost bins

Dayton, TX(Zone 9a)

I am looking for a compost bin I can turn or roll. I want to keep it in the green house . Any suggestions? I saw one on a web site and it kept the "tea" in the bottom for use. But it was about $250 and only made a little bit .

Well, the one I have is too big unless you have a very large greenhouse, but it does make a lot of the good stuff. It's the Mantis ComposTwin, a double cylinder on a stand. The turning lever is gear driven - a good feature because it is really heavy when fully loaded. I finally splurged and bought it because the black plastic bins are pitifully slow and scant. (The HOA here doesn't permit the classic piles.) There is a single version, too.

I do have a large one, 30x48. I'll find one on the internet and see if there is a local distributor. Thanks for the input. Ruth

Treated myself to the single (large) version this year and got in 3 batches before my lawn no longer provided the 'green'. Mowing will begin again soon enough! My old pile outside the back fence took months and months to compost even with the backbreaking turns with the pitchfork. I like the upper body workout...cranking daily when things are really cooking! It was worth the not frugal expense. My gardening has literally come to life after getting this!

I got my sister an envirocycle for christmas. It sits in a base that will make tea. It is like a big flat pill shaped thing that sits
in a base that lets it roll. I am going to take her a bag of horded leaves so she can get started. She lives alone so it will be fine for her. I bought it for 132 (delivered) from http://www.4hydroponics.com/order/grow_room.htm#Compost
