Just beautiful, Clare! Wish I could grow it here but we just experienced several days in the teens so guess I'll just have to look at your pictures! :-)

Thanks, Trunnels! If you have a greenhouse, I think this one does nicely in greenhouses. Sorry about your coooold weather!

Boy do I wish I had a GH!! Unfortunately, I have no place to put one. :(

Fabulous photo, Clare! I am on the verge of starting my own plants from seed. Wish me luck! Have you experience in this endeavor with this species?

Good luck, Joseph. No, I have never sown seeds of this vine. Let us know how they do! I just love things that bloom in winter. It really cheers up the place:-)

G'day. I have just planted my first "Happy Wanderer (False Sarspirilla)" plant and being and Australian Native I'm hoping it does as well as the pictures I've seen here.

On researching I've read that propogation is from seeds but you need to soak the seed in hotwater before sowing. The plant likes Zones 9-10 which is not too frosty but blooms in both winter and spring.

Hope this helps - Jay

Hi Jay! I'm sure your vine will be very happy where you are. I've had mine for a couple of years now, and it is growing quite large. The vines that have wrapped around my trellis have become massive! It started to climb a nearby tree, but I'm glad now that I did not let it because it would have girdled the tree.

I've never really been able to get a good picture of mine because of where it is planted. The sun is always facing the camera. Here is a side shot below that I was able to get by climbing up on the wall that it is growing over.

Mine usually blooms in the dead of winter and is mostly finished by spring.

Thanks for the propagation tip.
