Every day, the crows fly over our neighbourhood on their way to wherever they rest for the night. There are 10s of thousands, and they go about 1-2 hours before sunset. Today, they landed in the neighbours trees instead of their usual one down the block. It's a real cacaphony of noise, and reminds of Hitchcocks 'The Birds'
I've got a few photos of just a hand full of them.

Kinda spooky looking.......ever watch Alfred Hitchcock's Birds?
I find one or two annoying.....that is definitely overload!
Ooooee, Ooooee. That creeps me out! The pictures really do remind me of The Birds! Yikes!
I remember that movie.....cover your eyes!! Those are good pictures Linda. I'm rather fond of crows but would be a bit spooked to see that many and I agree, they are rather noisy.
We get huge numbers of Pine Siskins in the garden and at the feeders. Every so often a large group of Red-Winged Blackbirds come in, as well as the regulars: Juncos, Spotted Towhees, House Finches, White-crowned Sparrows, Fox Sparrows and once in awhile a few Chickadees. I'm curious....what birds are you all getting at your feeders these days?
There is a crow winter roost near my house. Every evening and morning I get about 2000 crows flying over! Quite noisy and on garbage day, I have my work cut out driving the blighters away.
Yikes!!
Suddenly I feel quite good about my zone! :)
I have to say I am a big fan of crows and ravens - just hate the magpies.
You know, speaking of magpies. We used to have so many of them around Edmonton/Sherwood Park area. Since we moved here, we haven't seen any. But crows, ah yes, lots of crows. But not of the magnitude of Linda & Todd's, thank God. I remember how the magpies would literally take over the birdfeeder. Used to make me mad. I also remember their weird call. Crows have a really different kinda call too. Besides cawing, they sit in the trees sometimes and make a "clucking" sound.
