Here is my Christmas projects and notice the Brug from a seed by Susie. It was planted outside and I brought it inside to see what color it would be. Will go outside again come spring and see what color it is then, and if it will be a keeper.
Christmas project
Pretty one, nice long tendrils.
It does have a nice shape.
Is that pot your Christmas project?
I love that pot!
Yes that is my project. Hypertuffa the third one. Gave the others away and am keeping this one.
The small one was supposed to go under the pot but was too small, so drilled a hole in the bottom and made a planter out of it.
Got four more of Susie's brugs that have not bloomed yet. They are in and waiting for spring.
May 2005 Be Your Best Year Ever
Judy
Why thank you Judy. May you have a wonderful year also.
Ted
Sure looks like my Dr. Seuss! Then---I am not an expert! From what i have heard from everyone, this same coloration of a Brug with the edges of the leaves (of the plant) serrated, are Dr. Seuss.
Anyway, it looks just like mine! Gitagal
Nice bloom and I like your pots too. I had intentions of making some things with the Hypertuffa this past summer but never did. Well next year is almost here I hope I can get an elephand ear birdbath made.
Very nice Christmas project! I have to get busy soon and start installing the expansion to my brug beds... Always nice to have projects going!
On my way to town to buy some shop lights. Need to get the rest of them to bloom. Was given an 8 ft table today to set them on. If they are white will not need to keep them. It really does look like Dr Seuss. I already have that one in the basement going dorment. This week will be a heat wave. In the 60's all week so guess I will get out and take decorations down and plant all the bulbs I bought at wallmart, on sale. Bags of 50 bulbs ea, for a buck. Got 18 of them. LOL
Have a happy new year everyone.
I love these warm days too, Gretch & Ted. It is not freezing now and it should be in the 60s at least several days. So, I will dig the boundary for extensions to the beds and I won't have to take as many breaks, tho digging does warm one up!! I wish I could start caladiums now, but they do oh so much better when planted directly in the ground, but I have to wait until the ground is 65 degrees, right after Easter...
Looks great Ted, I like how the calyx comes down on it.
I'm going to have to check into making some of the pots. They look pretty sharp.
Could you start a thread on the hypertuffa? I want to learn.
Great idea ruthm. I'm all eyes!!
Gosh, you have some nice looking plants in there. Love the light set up over the table. I have that in my basement too, but my knees don't like the trips up and down, so it isn't being used this year.
Most on the table are Coleus and they are all in self watering containers, I have run out of space though. Got carried away. Just wait until I have to start all the brug seeds that were given to me. LOL
You are a gardener. We always find just enough room for something else. lOL!
thanks for the links, scooter bug . My new years project! I can't wait to get started. But I would like someone to tell me the pitfalls to watch out for.
Just decide on a recipe and go for it.
This is like a lot of other things where book-learnin' ain't all ya need
Hands on experience is the best teacher.
As you continue to improve you can give your early 'one of a kind' experimental hypertufa models to friends ........... lol
There is a forum at GW also

I can vouch for that. One leads to another and you get ideas from others. Just do a search on daves and on the net and go for it. Just like making mud pies. Like using a trowel, I gave it up and used rubber gloves and mud by the hand full. One thing I did do this time with the paper sticks that is different is every so often I would insert a smaller pot to smooth out the inside and press the Hyperfuffa into the paper. Gave all my failures away with no problem.
