But I have some sad news to share. My daughter Katie, 15, is in the hospital. She went in yesterday and is expected to be there through the whole weekend, and maybe a week. Her cat scan showed worse results than the one taken almost 2 years ago, and she has a very high fever. Please keep her in your good thoughts or prayers. It would mean alot to her and to me. Wish I had cheerier things to share at this time. Usually I'm a gung ho on Christmas.

The tests were inconclusive (from the needle biopsy) so I am waiting word on what they plan to do next.
Karrie, I had no idea till I checked this forum just now. I am so sorry that they haven't gotten to the bottom of this problem for poor Katie. You will both be in my prayers and totally in my thoughts as you travel this road of concern. If there is anything I can do to help you just let me know.

Katie is finally home. She will continue on the steroids to shrink the nodes in her lungs. The steroids play havoc on her immune system, so she will not be returning to school right away after the holidays. She will be tutored. She missed so much school last year that she had to remain in the 8th grade and not go to highschool as she should have. Hopefully this tutoring will help and she will be able to move on next year.

Well, she is back in the hospital again. This time it is from abdominal pain, throwing up, the whole nine yards - they checked her for appendicitis and it doesn't look like that. It may be a reaction to all the meds she's been on. They are keeping her for 24 hours to observe.
Boy, she is having a heck of a time, isn't she? I hope everything will smooth out for her and for you too.
