Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Can you believe this got so high? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=25463&item=4345529484&rd=1

What's one of these worth anyways, I've seen them for under $10.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Wow wish I had one to sell. That is way too much for something that is so touchy.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

wow I planted seed, and only three came up I sure hope I can keep them alive but that price is crazy, it isn't even pretty compared to a lot of other ones I have seen.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

I guess that seller is having a fun Christmas! That's unbelievable!

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

AND two days left!
I wonder what it will end up

I don't particularly like red
I like white or pink
but I am thinking about a new side line,,,,

Merry Christmas Everyone

At least he could be honest
It says that the heat inhibits flowering
Instead of heat will kill it dead as a doornail.....

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Lol, that's not the brug for me! Ugh, very cold winters and very hot summers. Makes it a bit hard to grow brugs but Katz's (I think that's the name) carries alot of the warmer brugs.

Does anyone know where I can see pics of the European brugs? I'd like to see something other than the white, orange and pinks.

LOLCaptMicha, what colors do you think Euros have?
Here are pics of lots of Euros and American ones!

And I always enjoy looking at all of our very own Monika's brugs.

The Brugmansia database on Dave's has some Euros also.

I have grown sangs and I must warn you all they are very prone to viruses. They love my climate and get huge here. I prefer other types though. The colors are darker but the flowers smaller. I do not think they have any scent either, at least I have never noticed any.

You can buy seeds for them on ebay much more reasonably! They are self pollinating so a seed will come true to the mother.

Hiouchi, CA(Zone 8b)

this same seller has also enjoyed other very high prices
Red Iochroma! - Mini Brugmansia flowers! - Very rare

Anyone should think twice with the sellers with so many 'rare' and 'very rare' plants. Do your legwork before bidding.

On one hand you could say that they are preying on the uninformed buyer ............

On the other hand I would say ''caveat emptor'' ......The axiom or principle in commerce that the buyer alone is responsible for assessing the quality of a purchase before buying.

It makes me sad to see these shenanigans going on.

That lead in to the iochroma is a down right lie. PLUS you should be able to buy a plant from a reputable dealer for 7 or 8 bucks.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Way too high!! I must add that I do think a buyer is responsible for themself and should definitely find out all they can regarding a plant before bidding or purchasing. If this person had researched the web, they probably would have found that they could have gotten it much cheaper. Then again, maybe money is not a concern with them.

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I have bought from this ebay seller before and recieved the most well packed and well rooted plants. The only place I have ordered from that compared to this seller was bought from Logee's.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well for $61, it should be packed in gold. LOL. My Mom always said a fool and his money, is soon separated! That is why I am always broke!

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

I don't really understand why folks don't type in that particular brugmansia and have all the other ones come up for price comparison. Don't they know there are cheaper ones out there LOL

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I purchased a plant that looks, on the plant ID card, just like the $61 plant on eBay. It was sold at a nursery that buys plants from FL and this one arrived with the brugs and daturas. The plant was sold as a possible perennial, but if the weather was too cold, it might not make it. Well I left mine outside, so it is probably history, and I really don't care because it was all leaves and did not bloom. The nursery guy told me the plant was temperamental and one that he would not purchase again. Long story short, this 'plant' has been grown wild in the south, that I know of, since I was about 6 years old, where it grew in our service yard. Anyone else in the south ever see this plant and know what it may have been called?? Or, maybe it's a lookie likie, ya think??

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

I don't like that "RARE!" thing either. But it is my responsibility to check these things out. If I can get the same plant for cheaper some place else you better believe I'm doing that. I felt kind of sorry for those people, like I wanted to tell them that they were getting ripped off but oh well.
