Poinsettias

Have you seen the new Blue and Orchid varieties of Poinsettias. Gorgeous. They had a link in General Discussion Forum, apparently available at a place called Gertens in the States. I copied the photo. Probably won't be available to us in Canada until something like 2010!!

I expect they are simply dyed this colour, being originally white-flowered selections. They do the same thing with carnations and mums these days. I've even seen dendrobium orchids dyed turquoise-blue! Stunning but quite unreal colour.

Well, now not only do I feel crushed, deflated, disappointed, but also stupid. Makes sense to me now, Todd. Oh Well...they are pretty though.

The blue poinsettia would match the 'blue' santas that seem to be so popular this season (who came up with a blue santa suit concept...seems sacrilege to me!).

Haven't seen that yet. Kinda glad I haven't. Sacrilegous is right. What next?

They're pretty Donna but they just don't look right. I don't think they'll ever be able to replace good old red ones.
