Just out of curiosity - do you get any? Do you send them out? You know, those yearly updates that come with the Christmas cards, used to be photo-copied, now sent on theme stationary.

Hot off the printer - newsy Christmas letters
I've sent them maybe 3 different times, not the past few years though. This year we got 3 of them.
Not a big fan. I got three of them this year. DH and I usually get a chuckle out of a couple of them, because they can be so stupid. Things like, "Aunt Mary had her bunions operated on finally. Good thing too, because her feet were so bad she could hardly make it out to Bingo every Monday night!" Stuff like that. I have one BIL that sends one every year and he makes his very entertaining, but you have to have a good sense of humor as well as writing skills to be able to pull it off. I dislike the ones where they sound like they're bragging throughout the whole thing. I personally have never sent any out and doubt I ever will.
Receive them frequently from farflung less direct family and sometimes enjoy them. Must confess to being one of those people who is an out of sight pretty much out of mind kind; until the advent of email. If I really want to chat with anyone then it's the telephone.
Hi Lynn,
Haven't heard from you in a while. This Holiday Season gotcha going in circles, I bet. Hope you are enjoying the nice weather my Mom keeps telling me about.
What day was that - every day brings something new. I've never had such variable weather in this province in half century or so that I have lived here.
Currently looking for someone to replace the chimney that blew off my roof in saturdays wind storm
I have sent out Christmas letters for this years, but not this year. We just didn't have any news to tell anyone. Same old, same old. But I did write personal notes in all my cards. Got writer's cramp!! Not used to writing anymore!
I did get quite a few letters from others, most of which I already knew the news anyway. But certainly less than other years.
I send e-mail letters to a couple of people far away, but you know what?? I havent' heard from either one of them!!!!!
I really do like keeping in touch with people at XMas, but it seems as though people are fading away , more each year.
Glenda
Sad, but true Glenda. I am a Christmas Card writer. I love sending them and love even more, receiving them. But it seems like there are less and less every year. Of course we have the Canada Post to thank for most of that, but I think also the popularity of e-mail has taken away from the "personal touch" as well. I send both Christmas Cards and E-cards with little messages to people close to us.
I do the same, Donna............
I've had 3 newsletters so far. A couple more to come. All from extended family. We all know each other email but only stay in loose contact on email.
