Uunfortunetly I'm in zone 7 and I LoVe tropical plants. If I put them outdoors in the spring and bring them indoors in the fall (with no light other than from the windows) can these grow and fruit as houseplants? Sorry for the long list but I hope to do some seed shopping!~
Breadfruit
Miracle Fruit
Starfruit
Cherimoya
Chiclet tree (manilkara zapota)
Cinnamon (cinnamomum zeylancium) not fruit but will it grow okay?
Cocktail Tree (psidium friedrichstahlianum)
Custard Apple (annona muricata)
Macadamia Nut
Ylang-Ylang Can it flower?
Star Apple (chrysophyllum cainito)
Black Sapote (Diospyros digyna)
That's about it! Thanks
Can these grow indoors?
I seriously doubt that will flower and put on fruit on the inside, but you might keep them alive until spring, then grow them outside.
I think most of these get pretty big size.
I agree with Don...
Miracle fruit might be OK...it is generally small and a v e r y s l o w grower. The others do get HUGE .. Cinnamon "might" be OK...and you can enjoy the scent of the leaves...but it is the bark used and to get that big...whoa...

Most of your choices are Very tropical plants..by that I mean they need heat all year for the most part. Most also need to be very large(tree sized) to bloom and set fruit. :-)
I would suggest you might need to use grow lights to mimic the summer hours to fool the plants into think they are living in Hawaii in August! Keep the rooms these plants are in above 70 degrees and keep the room above 60% humidity.
While you might be able to make a go of of some of these as houseplants, my opinion is that you will work so hard, you'll just give up and invest in a greenhouse so you can do this properly.
And that cinnamon tree will eventually get to about 50 feet high. You might need a skylight! :>)
I can NOT wait for that green house! Hopefully come spring it'll finally get started. I'm building a sizable all glass one from scratch. SOOOO much work!
Well, when you get done with that... I'm thinking of expanding mine. C'mon over...
Hmm... if they will live inside.. you can " bonsai them " and possibly get some fruit. Never grown them before though. I have a bonsai lemon tree, it's neat, well it was til I left it outside and the cold mutilated it. Ack.
